Greg Maas
- Born on January 19th, 1966, Greg’s soccer journey began as a standout goalkeeper for the University of Portland. His athleticism extended to baseball, showcasing his versatility and unwavering dedication to sports. Holding prestigious coaching licenses, including the USSF ‘A’ License, Greg exemplifies a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. In 2001 Greg Became the Technical Director of the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) for over a decade, Greg’s impact has been profound. He spearheaded the development and implementation of programs that empowered young players of all ages and abilities. Beyond the UYSA, Greg’s influence extended to Real Salt Lake’s (RSL) U-17 program. As Head Coach for five seasons, he skillfully guided some of Utah’s top prospects. The team’s victory in the 2008 MLS U-17 Cup Championship. In 2014, Greg took on a groundbreaking role as the inaugural Head Coach of the Utah Valley University (UVU) men’s soccer program. Starting from scratch, he built a competitive team within the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), establishing the only NCAA Division I men’s soccer program in the state of Utah. Greg’s dedication extends beyond Utah. He has shared his extensive knowledge through instructor positions with esteemed organizations such as the United Soccer Coaches, U.S. Soccer Federation, and US Youth Soccer.
Todd Miller
- Born on November 29, 1973, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Todd’s passion for soccer began at a young age when he started playing recreationally before joining Sparta United Soccer Club at just 10 years old. He attended Alta High School, where he made a significant impact by leading the team to two State Championships and earning honors as All-State MVP and Gatorade Player of the Year. After graduating from Alta High School in 1992, Todd continued his soccer journey at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, playing for the NAIA team from 1992 to 1995. During his collegiate career, he served as team captain for four years and was recognized as an Academic All-American. In the off-seasons, he played with the local team Flamengo, where he helped secure three Utah Challenge Cup titles. In 1995, Todd was selected for the Adult State Team, leading them to victory in the Region 4 Open Cup, making history as the first Utah team to do so. He also earned a spot on the U.S. National Amateur Team, representing the United States in various tournaments. Todd graduated from Westminster College with a dual degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. In 1996, he became the first player from Utah to be drafted in the 3rd round (30th overall) by the Columbus Crew, where he played for two years before signing with the Charleston Battery. After his professional career, Todd returned to Utah, where he continued to play in the Utah Adult Soccer Association with International FC and Olympique Montreux FC, Todd has dedicated a decade to coaching at Sparta United.
